There are C channels that have three angled stretches and look like a C where the U channels have extended sides and shorter middle section that look like the letter U.The SS 304 U Channel is one of the most used U channels in the stainless steel grades.
The 304 material can operate under temperatures up to 870 degrees Celsius, the channels have 205MPa minimum yield strength and 515MPa minimum tensile strength. The SS 316 C Channel is C shaped and it is the second most material used for stainless steel products. The 316 channels can be used in sea water and high chloride ion rich environment. The 316 Stainless Steel C-channel also has molybdenum in the composition and can be used for food grade applications as well.
